Uganda Shines as Top Investment Destination in Africa

Uganda has been named the best investment destination in Africa, a recognition that solidifies its position as a hub for economic growth and opportunity. This prestigious award was given at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Uganda has consistently shown its commitment to creating a favourable business environment, attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and driving economic development. This is the second time Uganda has received an accolade from AIM, having won the award for the best investment destination in East Africa in 2023.

Uganda offers a unique combination of opportunities, including unexploited mineral deposits, abundant natural resources, a thriving tourism industry, and a strategic location for regional trade. The country has also implemented various initiatives to enhance its investment climate, including streamlining regulatory processes, improving infrastructure, and encouraging public-private partnerships.

As a result, Uganda has seen a significant increase in FDI inflows, with over $1.5 billion in foreign investment in 2023 alone. A notable $1 billion of this investment came from the United Arab Emirates in the past two years.
