Uganda's Star Athletes Withdraw from 5,000m Race at Paris Olympics
In a surprising turn of events, Uganda's top athletes Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo have pulled out of the 5,000m race at the Paris Olympics. According to head coach Faustino Kiwa, the duo was unable to recover in time for the 5,000m race after the grueling 10,000m final.

Cheptegei, who won gold in the 10,000m final, and Kiplimo, who finished eighth with a season-best performance, were expected to be strong contenders in the 5,000m race. However, their withdrawal has left Oscar Chelimo as Uganda's lone representative in the event.
Chelimo will now carry the Ugandan flag high, bearing the weight of the nation's expectations. Despite the setback, Coach Kiwa remains optimistic about Chelimo's chances, citing his impressive performance in the 10,000m race.

The withdrawal of Cheptegei and Kiplimo serves as a reminder of the demanding nature of elite athletics. The Olympics are a test of endurance, and even the world's top athletes can fall victim to fatigue.
As the Paris Olympics continue, Uganda's eyes will be on Oscar Chelimo, hoping he can bring home a medal and make the nation proud.
