Kenya Police Launch Manhunt After Notorious Suspect Escapes Custody

A massive manhunt is underway in Kenya after Collins Jumaisi, a suspect in a string of murders targeting women, escaped from police custody in Nairobi on Tuesday. Jumaisi, who was arrested last month, broke free from Gigiri police station alongside 12 Eritrean nationals, leaving authorities scrambling to recapture the fugitives.

According to Kenya police spokeswoman Resila Onyango, a thorough investigation has been launched, and a major security operation is in progress to apprehend the 13 escaped suspects. This daring escape has raised concerns about the effectiveness of Kenya's law enforcement and the safety of its citizens.

Alarmingly, this is the second time in just six months that a high-profile individual has slipped through the fingers of Kenya's police. In February, a suspect accused of murdering his girlfriend in the US escaped from a Kenyan police station, only to be recaptured a week later.

The recurrence of such incidents has sparked outrage and calls for reform within the Kenyan police force. As the search for Jumaisi and the Eritrean nationals continues, the public remains on edge, demanding swift action and accountability from the authorities.
