Superintendent of Police Mr. Mohammed Tanko, Divisional Police Commander in Dambai, has called on Ghanaians to exhibit political maturity and work together to ensure peaceful elections in December 2024. He made this appeal during the inauguration of the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) at the Krachi East Municipal Assembly Hall in Dambai.
Mr. Tanko urged the 40-member committee and stakeholders to guard against hate speech that could spark violence. He emphasized that elections should be about competing ideas, not hate speech, and encouraged all Ghanaians to contribute positively to peace.
He stressed that peace is fragile and priceless, and advocated for dialogue to resolve issues, rather than resorting to violence. Mr. Tanko added that it is crucial for all Ghanaians to moderate their behavior on election day to ensure a peaceful outcome.
