The biopic film titled "Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti" tells the story of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, a Nigerian educator, activist, and mother of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. The film highlights her journey from her days at Abeokuta Grammar School to her marriage with Israel Ransome-Kuti, and her revolutionary fight against colonialism and patriarchy through the Abeokuta Women's Union

Directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters and written by Tunde Babalola, the film features a talented cast including Kehinde Bankole, Ajoke Silva, Adunni Ade, Adebayo Salami, Omowunmi Dada, Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Ibrahim Suleiman, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, Yewande Osamein, and Iyimide Ayo-Olumoko

The film showcases significant moments in Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti's life, such as her role as the first female student at Abeokuta Grammar School, her marriage to Israel Ransome-Kuti, her career as an educationist, and the formation of the Abeokuta Women's Union (initially called the Abeokuta Ladies' Club) which led to a revolt against oppressive taxes imposed by traditional kings and the British colonial authorities.
