Broots Magazine is proud to announce its maiden edition, dedicated to showcasing the voices, culture and talents of Africa. Our theme, "Embracing African Renaissance," embodies the continent's rich cultural heritage and its modern-day resurgence. We're seeking submissions that capture the essence of Africa's rebirth, from its bold artistic expressions to its innovative spirit, and its unwavering resilience.
We invite writers, artists, and creatives to submit original, unpublished works that not only reflect the African experience but also celebrate its diversity, complexity, and beauty.
Submission Categories:
- African Stories
- Articles (non-fiction, essays, and opinion pieces)
- Reviews (book, film, art, and music)
- Creative Trends (fashion, design, and innovation)
- Poetry
- Art (visual, graphic, and digital)
- Photography
Submission Guidelines:
- Original, unpublished works only
- Maximum word count: 600 words (prose), 15 lines (poetry)
- High-resolution images (art and photography)
- Submissions should be sent as attachments to [ brootsmagazine@gmail.com ]
- Include a brief bio (max. 50 words) and contact information
- All submissions should be Afrocentric, reflecting the African experience, culture, and perspective

Selection Criteria:
- Creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme
- Technical skill and craftsmanship
- Potential to inspire, educate, or entertain
- Authentic representation of African culture and experiences
Publication:
- Selected works will be featured in the maiden edition of Broots Magazine
- Contributors will receive a Hard/digital copy of the magazine
- Opportunities for future collaborations and showcases
